EEVblog #1374 – DIY Trezor Crypto Hardware Wallet – Part 1
Daimler, one of the largest automakers in the world behind the Mercedes-Benz brand, has announced the development of a crypto hardware wallet for next-generation vehicles.
According to a press release, the German corporation plans to use a crypto wallet to interact cars with infrastructure «smart city» in order to reduce congestion and reduce insurance payments, exchange data on the current traffic situation in real time, as well as integrate into unmanned vehicles and to implement the concept of car sharing.
The presented device is created on the basis of the secure data storage system from the startup Secure Element 2.0 with using the Riddle blockchain interface & Code. The product provides secure identification of the vehicle, and when integrated with state registration tools, it will allow making unique fully secure transactions.
We also reported earlier that British company Jaguar Land Rover, together with the IOTA Foundation, is developing technology that will stimulate drivers to earn cryptocurrency in driving process.
